The Phoenix Monsoon starts their NPSL season today in a game against Fullerton Rangers.
Today features the last of Arizona’s pre-season training games. In one of two scheduled matches, Sporting Kansas City will face our local squad FC Tucson over at Kino Sports Complex.
I bounced the idea of a podcast off of Vicente Fuentes and Magdalena Barajas a while back. We finally managed to get together, at least me and Vince, and set ourselves to recording.
I’ve been told that the league doesn’t want to call it “Spring Training,” that it’s “Preseason Training.” I’ve also been told not to spell “Preseason” with a hyphen.
I have scant data to go on, but what I’ve seen from FC Tucson so far gives me hope that this will be an exciting team to watch when the PDL season starts in a few months.
I’ve been bad about keeping you all up to date here, but don’t take that as meaning that nothing is going on.
I was planning to go through the MLS pre-season schedule for who has not yet announced their plans and deduce what team will be the sixth in Tucson.
Someone is going to have to explain to me what went wrong here.
