Revs Righted?

I gave Jose Bosch grief after he put out a press release extolling a two game winning streak from Arizona United. Two games is not a streak, but an “in a row.” Three? Three is a streak. I don’t want…

What, no Pablo? No Bruce?

One of this week’s MLS Now segments asks the question which MLS coaches, all but one are former pro players (no Sigi), would make for a good Best XI? Here’s who they came up with: G – Jeff Cassar (RSL)…

Monday Morning Center Back

The most fascinating game I saw this weekend was the Clasíco Nacional, but I gotta list some others. By the way, my rule is that I list the home team second. That’s except when I decide not to. Wednesday Chelsea…

Heaps on preseason results

The Revs are back in Massachusetts enjoying the warm weather. Before they left, I got to ask Jay Heaps about how he approaches preseason matches. Specifically, does he care about the result? Caleb Porter made it obvious that the results…

Jay’s Got Moxie

Heaps_Moxie
Saturday night’s pennant is my favorite I’ve done so far: Jay’s got Moxie! I really wanted to do it for the 8/1 game for his birthday on the 2nd, but the team asked to pair it with the bobblehead tonight, so here it is on my birthday, not Jay’s. (Same year, btw–we are two weeks apart). Anyway this cracks me up every time I look at it; the design worked way too well. It’s wicked pissah!

“We were talking about it on the bench. FC Tucson did a great job. Their fans were loud. You couldn’t think. There wasn’t a ton of them but their commitment was clear.” – New England Revolution coach Jay Heaps on the Cactus Pricks

“That’s is the only reason why Jay took the job. If Jay wants to admit that, fine. If Jay doesn’t, that’s his prerogative. For those of us that know Jay very well, you’re naïve to think this isn’t the reason he took the job. Because 2006 lives with Jay forever.” – Taylor Twellman on Jay Heaps and the MLS Cup quoted on MLSSoccer.com

Count me as a fan who was unsurprised that New England dealt Benny Feilhaber away this week. I interviewed Feilhaber back during preseason in Casa Grande and had hopes for what he could do with the team under a new…

Frickin’ Revs

Now that my boys are not in the playoffs, it’s time to unload. Okay, not unload, really. I’m more resigned. Being a fan of the current Revs is a bit like my first years of following the team. Maybe the…

De Revolutionibus Orbium Harpastum

Hope for the best, but expect the worst Expect the worst Well, you’re hardly ever disappointed And sometimes pleasantly surprised – “Bleak House,” The Phantom Limbs Today, the New England Revolution opens its season. Oddly, they are the last MLS…

A Very Dangerous Place

Fun, fun is in store in the SuperLiga tonight, and not just because the Revs have already beaten Morelia in this tournament. For those who aren’t paying attention, Federico Vilar, the former Atlante goal keeper who infamously struck Jay Heaps…
