Desert Diamond Cup, 2013

Tucson got hit with a Winter storm just in time for the second day of the tournament, a rare event for a city that has only had a handful of days of measurable snowfall in the last century. The Accenture Golf tournament was canceled for the day, but soccer players are made of heartier stuff and the game played despite the strange white flakes falling from the sky. The Sounders made their first trip to the Old Pueblo and were rewarded with a championship.

The New York Red Bulls made their last trip to Tucson after participating in three preseasons here.
