Yes, you’ve been dying for Jaga preseason highlights, haven’t you?
Come on, admit it.
The team was in camp over the border in Marijampolė and played against FK Ekranas last week. Enkranas, based in Panevėžys, currently holds the A Lyga championship, the Lithuanian Cup and the Lithuanian Supercup. Maciej Makuszewski created some chances coming up on the wings, and managed to open up the scoring with a goal in the 55th minute. He also got red carded for a fight late in the match. Cameroonian striker Christian Bekamenga, on trial with the team, seemed a bit clumsy and not on the same page with his teammates.
Two possible replacements for Grzegorz Sandomierski played in the match: last season’s back-up Tomasz Ptak and Jakub Słowik, who is back from a loan spell with Warta Poznań.
Even in the highlights, Jaga isn’t nearly as dominant as they were in the earlier match. It wasn’t until the 87th minute that they scored. Tomasz Kupisz took advantage when Stomil keeper Michał Leszczyński failed to clear a shot from Robert Arzumanyan to make the only goal of the match.
By the way, coach Tomasz Hajto put himself in as a second half substitute.
Bekamenga scored around the half hour mark with a long range shot that, admitedly, probably wouldn’t have fooled a better keeper.
Some more familiar faces graced the second half with Pawłowski playing as a lone striker and Kupisz and Nika Dzalamidze playing as wingers. The trio created a lot of danger, but they need to work on their finishing.
By the way, Field 5 looks to be in better condition than this place.
