The bad news is Dominic Papa got cut from the San Antonio Scorpions; the good news is he’s back with FC Tucson.
I just spoke with Rick Schantz and he reported that Papa got cut from the NASL squad this week. He failed to get playing time after the team brought in a group of waived MLSers that included Blake Wagner, Aaron Pitchkolan and the now-mustacheless Ryan Cochrane for their back line.
Papa will be joining a defense helmed by Kareem Smith and Conor Spence that has performed admirably so far.
Schantz reports that Papa is fit and ready to go. He hopes to have the paperwork taken care of this week and put him on the field for Saturday’s home opener. I’ll be stopping by practice tomorrow and hopefully I can talk to Papa.
