How Flair Is Punished!

Changes for the Monsoon

April 20, 2012

The Monsoon confirmed that coach Daniel Ochoa will be leaving after only two games (both losses). Reports from around the team indicate tension with owner Adrian Quintero, who will be taking on coaching duties on an interim basis.

The team is doing a search for a permanent head coach. There are also reports of players leaving the team.

These are not the sort of growing pains that any team would want. Stepping back from the “reporter” role, I want these guys to succeed because FC Tucson needs a decent in-state opponent, even if they are in a different league.

One bright spot is that they are also moving their home venue. They were playing their home games at a high school in Tolleson. Tomorrow’s home game will be at the Reach 11 Sports Complex. It’s more centrally located, and it’s a place where several MLS teams have trained. The later fact alone should make for a more professional situation than playing at a high school.
