-Grumble-
I wondered if even the Revs could blow a three goal lead. This answers my question.
Still, I guess I can take hope in the fact that the team was able to generate offense. The problems at the back are still there though, and could be seen even before Philly started making its comeback.
A scary moment happened near the end when Pat Phelan went down with a possible concussion. The always classy Philadelphia fans booed him as he walked out the field. This was out of bounds enough that Philly booth man Taylor Twellman took to Twitter to call the fans out for it. Yeah, he’s a former Rev, but the way his career ended makes his take on it more than “there but for the grace of God…”
Anyway, here are the highlights. Well, the first half are highlights. I don’t know what to call the second half.
Trivia buffs, stat geeks and nerds everywhere: The last time the Revs scored 4 goals in a game was in April of last year against Toronto FC. This fact courtesy of Jeff Lemieux, who points out that all of those Rev goals were also scored in a single half. That game featured a hat trick from Zach Schilawski and a goal from Sainey Nyassi.
