Municipio on Friday, Sahuaros on Saturday, are y’all ready?
- Mark Sadler e-mailed me today, and he’ll be reprising his role as stadium announcer at FC Tucson’s games this weekend. Sadler did the English language announcements at the Desert Cup. He is a native of Codsall, England, but has lived in Oklahoma and Texas. He wrote about soccer during his time in Oklahoma for a magazine called OKC Sports Fan Forum. He’s also got a book out: a thriller called Blood On His Hands. His musings on life in general can be found at his blog with the very English title Bollocks.
- Midfielder Glenn Vass attended practice tonight but didn’t work out. He stepped back to give his still injured ankle a rest. He plans to train with the team Thursday and hopes to play both games this weekend.
- Being semi-pro, the team often has to deal with conflicts from day jobs. Fan favorite (well, favorite of this fan) Jacobi Goodfellow’s day job is in Florida. He will not be making it to the games this weekend. Nonetheless, I had a long talk with him about his time playing for the Portland Timbers and I’ll have something up in the Sentinel tomorrow.
