How Flair Is Punished!

FC Tucson Update

May 19, 2011

I attended FC Tucson practice earlier this week; the results of my talks with assistant coach John Pearlman and midfielder Jesús Ortiz will be appearing in an article in the Tucson Sentinel today.

I talked to Pearlman about the scrimmage I attended a couple of weeks ago when he was concerned about the shape of the team. He pointed out that these things have been worked on and he seems generally happy with how the team is now playing. He pointed out that there is still tinkering, even mid-game: Glenn Vass started the Yavapai match as a winger, but he was moved to central midfielder by the end of the contest. He’s a much better fit there and Pearlman says “It’s clear he’s going to be hard to unseat as the central midfielder.”

Expect more tinkering: players returning from colleges out of state are expected to rejoin the team over the next week or so.

UPDATE: The Sentinel has posted the story.
