Ledbetter, DeGraffenreidt picked in draft

The third and fourth rounds of the MLS draft were held today and two FC Tucson players, Austin Ledbetter and Michael DeGraffenreidt will be off to the big time.

LedbetterMissouri-born Ledbetter, an MVC player of the year at SIUE, was a long termer by FC Tucson standards, first hitting the field for the team in 2014 and scoring a late season goal against RC Foxes that year. Ledbetter was one of four players drafted by Dallas in the final rounds.

DeGraffenreidtDeGraffenreidt was drafted by NYCFC after successful stays at college powerhouse Louisville and FC Tucson. Here is what Hudson River Blue had to say about him:

DeGraffenreidt made 76 starts over 77 total appearances for the Louisville Cardinals. The 5’10” Baltimore native was named to the All-American Athletic Conference second team as a freshman back in 2013. A first-choice center back in college, he makes up for his lack of elite size with some notable aerial ability, and projects well as a right fullback at the professional level.
