    Gordon Bradley

    Gordon BradleyFormer New York Cosmos coach Gordon Bradley has died. The main part of his career was before I was old enough to really appreciate it. However, he is one of the many people featured in Once In A Lifetime. There is a scene with Bradley giving Franz Beckenbauer advice on a play. Beckenbauer is carefully and respectfully listening. If the guy could earn the respect of Beckenbauer, he’s got mine.

    I started this here blog with Hoover Dam, and then I stopped posting on it. I’m such a jackass. Given that the two of us are MLS fans, I guess it makes some sense, since it is the offseason.

    Here I am; the prodigal son has returned.

    I was talking to my friend Magdalena, who is a fan of the game in the generic sense, but lacks an allegiance to any particular team. In fact, she even lacks cable service, so even if she had a team, following it would be a chore.

    The other day, a friend of hers and I were giving her suggestions as to good movies she should rent. She said, “You should write these down for me!” Well, here I go in no particular order:
